Overview
Cockburn Cloud is committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it is used and stored, and the choices and rights you have.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). We do not sell or trade your personal information, and we collect only what is reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries and deliver our services.
Who we are
This policy applies to the Cockburn Cloud website and enquiry process. Cockburn Cloud is a registered business name operated by The Trustee for Stibbs Sentinel Wealth Trust, ABN 89 592 787 720, based in Cockburn, Western Australia.
For any privacy matter, contact privacy@cockburncloud.com.au.
What information we collect
We collect only information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- your name, business name, email address, and phone number;
- details about your website, hosting, email, domain, DNS, or support issue;
- information you choose to include in an enquiry or message;
- project, package, budget, source, or page context passed through enquiry links;
- technical and analytics information collected automatically, such as browser and device type, pages visited, referring URL, and approximate (city/region-level) location;
- security and anti-spam information, such as form metadata and verification signals.
How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- directly from you — through the contact form, email, phone, or project discussions;
- automatically — through analytics and security tools when you use the website (see Third-party services below).
We do not buy marketing lists or collect personal information from third-party data brokers.
How we use it
Information is used to:
- respond to enquiries and understand what service or support you need;
- prepare quotes, project notes, and follow-up communication;
- provide website, hosting, business email, migration, support, and technical services;
- maintain website security and reduce spam or misuse;
- understand how the website is found and used, so it can be improved;
- keep business records and meet legal obligations.
We will not use your information for direct marketing without your consent, and you can opt out of any such communication at any time.
When information may be shared
We do not sell or trade personal information. It may be shared only where reasonably needed to operate the business or deliver services, including with:
- website hosting, email, form, security, analytics, or infrastructure providers;
- professional advisers, where required for business, accounting, or legal purposes;
- service providers involved in delivering work you have requested;
- authorities, where required or authorised by law.
Third-party services
The website and business rely on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare — provides hosting, content delivery, and the Turnstile check on the contact form. Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser signals for security and delivery.
- Google Analytics — used to understand how visitors find and use the website (pages visited, session length, referral source). This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — used to display the website's typography, which may involve Google receiving your IP address when fonts load.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily through Google Analytics, to measure usage and improve the site. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking them will not stop you using the website, though some functionality may be affected.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the services above (such as Cloudflare and Google) are operated by international providers, so limited technical or analytics information may be processed on servers outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Storage and security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure — including HTTPS encryption, spam and bot filtering, and restricted access to enquiry records. No method of internet transmission or storage is completely secure, but information is handled with practical safeguards appropriate to the business.
Data retention
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for enquiry handling, project delivery, support, business administration, record keeping, and legal or security purposes. Financial records are retained as required under Australian law. When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or de-identified.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can:
- access the personal information held about you;
- request correction of information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- request deletion where we are not legally required to retain it;
- opt out of any marketing communication; and
- make a complaint if you believe your information has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@cockburncloud.com.au. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Updates to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time if business processes, website tools, or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the "Last updated" date below.
Contact and complaints
For any question about this policy or how your information is handled, contact privacy@cockburncloud.com.au. We take privacy concerns seriously and will respond promptly.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
